FLAGPOLES

FLAGPOLES
Like two wild flags ripped of their poles and floating together aimlessly.
It just Doesn’t work.
A flag needs a pole in order to fly.

My heart aches

each time that

I think of your smile

What would it take

Just to bring back

your lips to mine?

Don’t show me the road that’s been traveled by most

For I’d rather just coast by the skeleton’s ghost

Don’t prick me with fire as I lay out to roast

Pourin’ gas on the fibres of all that we know

I’m already floating on gardens of rose

I’ve returned to my essence and let out the smoke

I’m far fetching moments to star trek the show

Though I’m learning for always I’m no longer chocked
